Finale Welcome Quiltalong from Humble Quilts

Even though this is the final part we will not have a linky party until I return. That should give you some time to get your top completed.

I made a template from the book for the border triangles. I could have done one large square cut twice on the diagonal, but I wanted more of a variety, so I opted to do each one. You may not want to make this border and that is fine too!

Wait! These aren't blocks in the Little Quilts pattern booklet! You are correct! Usually when I do a small quiltalong the quilt is complete before I start. This time I'm doing with you! I really wanted to get this top completed before going to Dominican Republic. So, I took a shortcut and used a few orphan blocks that I already had. I've only heard from about 4 people that are working on this. So many of you bought the pattern or had the booklet. Let me know if you are still piecing the top with me! (Some are speedy and already have the top completed, I get it!)

We will finish the letters this time.

Using your 2.5" squares, hst, and 4 patches these can easily be completed.

LOL, I think there was a reason this 4 patch was in the orphan block drawer!

This week we have an easy block and a not so easy block!

I'm giving some hints on how I did my house block- there are no "right or wrong" way of doing it. Feel free to substitute any of your favorite blocks for this one or find a house block online that doesn't have set-in seams that will finish at 8". I love having options!

Part 3 in our quiltalong is today! How are you doing on it?

We will make the letter L and the basket block.

My blocks are a bit humble.... They are still pretty sweet though.

This one is pretty straight forward.

They do not share a piecing diagram in the pattern, so I thought since this one may be a bit tricky to new (or old ) quilters, I'd share how I pieced it.

Let's do another one! Not counting the time to applique the W that first block went together very easy and very fast. So I decided we will likely do 2 blocks each time.

Welcome Quiltalong- Let's Start! from Humble Quilts

We have talked about this long enough- let's get going!

I have no idea how long this will go, I'll be playing it by ear depending on what block we are doing and how most of you will be doing your applique.

Fall "Welcome" Quiltalong from Humble Quilts

It looks like there is enough interest to do this as a quiltalong. I had to order the pamphlet and it was supposed to be here on the 25th and it still has not arrived. As soon as I get it I will start figuring out how to divide it up and see how we can do this together.
